On behalf of the Center for Global Politics (CGP) from Free University in Berlin, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) at Vietnam National University Hanoi, and the Department of International Studies (DIS) and Department of Media and Communication (DMC) of RUPP, I would like to invite you to the panel discussion on “Politics 2.0 – Do Social Media Change Public Affairs?”, on July 15 from 4 to 6 pm at DMC, RUPP, Russian Bvld, Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.

The panel discussion will focus on the following:

1. What role do new media play for political and social processes?
2. In what way do new and social media transform the choice of topics and set agendas?
3. How do these developments impact the distinction between producing, reporting, and consuming “news”?
4. How political are the contents in blogs, on facebook, and other platforms?
5. What are the main challenges related to new media for journalists and for policymakers?
