After over two years of mobilizing youth film lovers to put their feet into practical film making and enjoying recognitions of its ongoing film making achievements, 4K will launch its new film to celebrate its 2nd Anniversary in Siem Reap on October 30th 2011, at French Institute of Cambodia (formerly known as French Cultural Center).

During this anniversary, 4K will provide the audience with the opportunity to enjoy a Cambodian film from the ‘60s and ‘70s (03:00pm-05:00pm), the profile documentary by 4K and a film teaser by Heang Boong (06:00pm-06:15pm), and the music performed by local singer Sai and Band (06:30pm-07:30pm) and by Cambodian Space Project featuring songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s (07:30pm-09:00pm). And this is part of our 4K traditions to keep connecting the past with the present for a better future.

Tickets for the night party are $2 for Expats and $1 Cambodian. All proceeds support 4K’s next short film project “Youth Curtain”, based on that film teaser. The story is about an innocent countryside girl distracted by her city cousin with improper youth acts.

If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a film producer, donations of $500 or more buys you a credit as a co-producer of “Youth Curtain”, a DVD of the film signed by the key cast and crew, as well as VIP entry to the red carpet premiere when we finally finish our new masterpiece!

It is expected that the event will offer an opportunity to young film making amateurs from the Northern part of Cambodia to be exposed at possibilities in producing films and being trained in this industry. Altogether, we will share the spirit and effort to reach our common goal by creating a new era of Cambodian films at high standards and international recognition.

Also, German film and music researcher, Dr. Tilman Baumgaert, will present (06:15pm-06:30pm) his film and music magazines newly produced by media students, respectively in 2010 and 2011.

4K is a self-sustained collective of film lovers resulting from the workshop with French Cambodia filmmaker, CHOU Davy, in 2009. Ever since, 4K has produced a couple of collective films: “Twin Diamonds” and “Boyfriend”*. This celebration is meant to contribute to their ongoing film project for this year and 2012.
