With a policy of bringing the best of the worlds artists with the best homegrown talent. sabay music’s first signing is the biggest artist in the world today: ADELE, who sold 18 million albums in 2011 alone and won 6 Grammy’s in 2012.

Closely followed by the world’s favourite rapper PITBULL who has signed his forthcoming 2012 singles, as well as some of his favourite hits to sabay music. Local talent and leading POU KHLAING is the first Khmer artist on the same.

‘I think it’s great that Khmers get to see and share and experience different things through the internet nowadays,’ said multi talented rapper / singer / producer and Anachak Dara winner POU KHLAING from ‘we can see other artists, experience their acts and talent. And that a Cambodian music company can now sign Adele and Pitbull legally: it shows how far we have come as a nation, or at least as a music scene. For me it’s really exciting to be on the same label as them. Its really cool to be the first Khmer act on Sabay Music but I know they are looking for more so its a good place to be right now.’

Sabay Music launch party is at Pontoon nightclub April 7th. Tickets are 5$ (free before 11pm).

this process, Lorn has been developing this work for several years
reaching an apex of refinement by working with highly detailed images
emphasizes the painterly effect by applying additional painted strokes
on top of the printed image.

The exhibition will feature new unseen works, documentary videos and
an installation of a melting sculpture on the night of the opening
only. Other works by Loeum Lorn can be seen at the JavaArts
This repetition of breaking and remaking brings attention to cycles of trauma, both personal and historical. Full Circle is a meditative and introspective performance, one that reflects the slow, complex process of mending and transforming. For the artist, the physical and mental challenge of maintaining the concentration and patience to carry out the task is an integral part of the piece.

The artist states: “Aiding the evolution of emotional stagnation and unburdening oneself from the past is the focus of my artwork. I create art in order to observe, examine and transform the lasting effects of war, including trauma, loss, displacement and guilt. Throughout this process, I have discovered movement masked by rigidity, simplicity within complexity and turbulence overlapping harmony. The process of making art helps me transform these universal aspects of life into a new vitality.”

Unlike most exhibitions where the reception marks the beginning, the public is invited to join the closing event, marking the end of this particular cycle of the circle—only to start again at another place and time, perpetuating Full Circle in its infinite course.

Amy Lee Sanford, born in Cambodia, draws on a multi-faceted background when creating her artwork. She studied Visual Art at Brown University, with concentrated study in Engineering and Biology. She also studied ceramics at the Rhode Island School of Design, University of Massachusetts and Harvard. Her work has been exhibited internationally and she has received awards and recognition in art, science and literature.

EARL OKIN (UK) is an act that totally defies description: ‘Musical Genius’ and ‘Sex Symbol’ are the two most common labels – the former is accurate, the latter ironic. Earl quite simply must be experienced to be understood. He is not a comic as such, yet is absolutely hilarious and totally unique. Earl is as charming as he is brilliant.
As a singer-songwriter, he was signed to the same company as The Beatles and indeed recorded his first single at Abbey Road Studios. An accomplished jazz and bossa nova musician, Earl has performed around the world and entertained Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the King and Queen of Sweden.

“Multi-talented musical supremo.” TIME OUT

TOMMY DEAN (USA) was born and raised in Arizona, but 20 years ago upgraded to Australia to become one of his adopted country’s most admired comedians. Not your stereotypical Yank, this is an American who eats vegemite and understands cricket.

Tommy’s comedy is intelligent, insightful and as sharp as a tack, and his astute, clean, observational comedic style consistently make him a stand out winner with theatre audiences, corporate clients, festival producers, TV and radio shows alike.

“Tommy Dean is Awesome.” FOXTEL MAGAZINE

RON JOSOL (CAN/ PHIL) is Canada’s funniest Pinoy and one of the country’s funniest comedians full-stop. We were lucky to get Ron on a stopover to LA from a huge comedy event in Doha.

Ron is a high energy, positive performer with a modish comedy style and commanding stage presence, bringing a unique Asian-Canadian perspective to his comedy. He is well known to Canadian and US audiences through his numerous festival and TV appearances.

“The new generation of Asian comedy.” NEW YORK TIMES
