If it’s your first visit to Phnom Penh, you should never miss this Boeung Keng Kang 1 district in the heart of the Cambodian capital city. Boeung Keng Kang 1 (or BKK1 in short) is a popular district of coffee shops and restaurants. Probably it’s the finest place for eat and drink in Phnom Penh. For example, Street 57 in BKK1 is home to a number of good coffee shops, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Costa Coffee, and Brown Coffee. Want American fast food? You’ve got it, too. I’ve lived in Phnom Penh since the 1980s. I went to a high school in this district as it’s close to my home on Monivong Boulevard near St. 360. I’ve witnessed a tremendous transformation of the BKK1 from quiet residences to popular areas for NGOs’ offices to increasing number of coffeeshops and restaurants.
