Cambodia Internet veteran weighs in on Internet in development

Norbert Klein, currently an editor of Cambodia Mirror, recalls his early years in Cambodia helped introduce and setup the first email communication system. The Phnom Penh resident talks about his observation from 1994 to 2010 as Cambodians leverage the power of the Internet and contribute to nation’s development through pushing the flow of information.

In his very own editorial piece, The Influence of the Internet on Cambodia, Klein writes that

I am still convinced that the Internet did not only bring change by making a wast amount of information accessible, but the possibility to express one’s own observations, feelings, and thinking brought tremendous changes to society: it ushered in a democratization of public opinion, and it provides many people with a wide audience, something which never existed before.
