Chromecast Ultra made by Google

Last night Google announced the Chromecast Ultra, a 4K version of its very popular streaming device. The Chromecast Ultra will be able to stream 4K content from YouTube Netflix, and Vudu at launch. HDR content — both HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats — is also supported by the Chromecast Ultra. Are you excited about it?

Google Cast app has been rebranded as Google Home. When you launch the app, you will now see two tabs on top instead of three: whereas before, you had What’s On, Devices, and Get Apps, now you simply have Watch and Discover.

“Stream in up to 4K Ultra HD and HDR with stunning picture and lightning speed.”

YouTube Netflix, and Vudu offer users to stream 4K content.

Chromecast 2 at Sweet Memory Store

Chromecast Ultra has an Ethernet port on the power adapter for users whose Wi-Fi connections may not be able to handle 4K streams. In the US, the Chromecast Ultra will cost you double the price of its predecessor, coming in at $69. The Chromecast 2 is much cheaper.

When will Chromecast Ultra be available?
Google will release the Ultra in November this 2016. Google Play movies will start streaming 4K content in November, too.

With Chromecast Ultra, Google finally has its own media streaming device that comes head to head with Roku Premiere+ (which is more expensive).
