About the role
You will lead BBC Media Action’s Cambodia team to deliver exciting and innovative media and communications projects with development impacts. This role requires you to provide editorial leadership, ensuring all outputs adhere to BBC standards. You’ll be managing over 50 staff, including production, research, training and finance personnel. You’ll oversee the team’s strong financial management and effective project delivery. You will develop and implement the vision for Media Action’s future in Cambodia, including recruiting staff when needed. You’ll lead the team to secure significant new business, through designing and pitching exciting new project ideas. In this you will develop strong relationships with funding agencies, stakeholders and partners.
A dynamic media or development professional, you’ll bring to this role strong leadership and sound management experience. You’ll be committed to international development and know how media can be used for development. The role requires you to be committed to public service broadcasting, and to show the potential to acquire strong editorial skills. You will have designed and managed high quality projects, including managing complex budgets in line with donor requirements. You’ll have experience of managing diverse teams. You will bring outstanding interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work diplomatically and engage effectively with people whose first language is not English. You’ll have a proven track record of developing and securing new business, including writing proposals and presenting to donors. You will have lived and worked in a developing country.
