RMA Group Cambodia won Costa’s international award; to open five more outlets this year
Phnom Penh, Cambodia (July 2, 2013)–RMA Cambodia won the international award for ‘Outstanding New Market Opening’ of its Phnom Penh’s first Costa Coffee outlet, taking home a prestigious trophy of ‘Costa’s International Award for Outstanding Achievement’ on June 4, 2013, from London, UK.
Presented the award to Express Food Group (EFG) General Manager Tep Virak in London, Costa Asia Managing Director Paul Smith said “For opening up this new market with a huge flagship store and leaving no doubt about their vision of dominating the competition is a great example to local partners.”
Mr. Tep Virak said “The award boosts our confidence in executing our expansion plan. We are serving more and more customer everyday, so another five more outlets will be able to satisfy many more Coffee Lovers in Cambodia by the end of this year.”
In the Cambodian capital alone, EFG will open four new Costa Coffee stores; at Phnom Penh International Airport, in Vattanac Capital Tower, on Sisowath Quay and on St. 169. As part of this extraordinary expansion, EFG will also open the very first store in Siem Reap.
Winning the International Awards for Outstanding Achievement is a milestone for EFG, a division of RMA Cambodia, which is entirely staffed by Cambodians.
First opened in February 2013, Costa Coffees’s stand-alone store on Street 51 is superbly unique and the best in the world.
RMA Group will expand the world’s second largest coffee chain to market in Thailand by the end of this year and in Laos afterward.
Established in 1992, RMA represents a range of diversified, international brands: Ford Automotive, Kohler Power Generators, The Pizza Company, Swensen’s, BBQ Chicken and Dairy Queen and Sajibumi.
Costa Coffee was founded in 1971 by Italian brothers Bruno and Sergio Costa and taken over by Whitbread plc in 1995. Today, Costa is the UK’s biggest coffee chain.
