One of the best things about living in Phnom Penh is that you can easily have your hands on the newest smartphones and computer tablets. And whether you’re an Android users or die hard Apple fans, you can have all them.

The latest Apple iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 (with Retina display) are already in town, but you may be amazed by the above $1k price tag for the former and above $600 for the later.. Google’s latest Nexus devices, Nexus 5 phone or Nexus 7 tablet, are also available, but not the Moto X by Google-owned Motorola Mobility yet.
Is it a good idea to purchase an electronic gadget here or should I get it from abroad? With your money, you can almost buy anything here. Cambodia is very close to Thailand’s Bangkok, the international hub of flights from all over the world. This is the best thing as entrepreneurs can import most of the popular products wanted by young locals, who embrace and indulge in iPhones and iPads. Most of the shops in Phnom Penh are more or less the same for they’re supplied by a few distributors.
Prefer a dedicated e-reader? You can still have it. Sweet Memory Store has all the Kindles and the leather-covers you’re asking for.
The difference about buying your wanted smart phone Cambodia’s Phnom Penh is that there is no network service carriers to consider. You can buy an unlocked phone and a cheap SIM card.
So there is little reason to take an hour flight to Bangkok for shopping spree.
