Cambodia has recently hosted at least two high profile figures, UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon and now U.S. secretary of state Hillary Clinton. It’d be interesting to see what the secretary of state will take back from Cambodia.
The UN top leader was lately told to close its rights office and remove its outspoken staff. That’s not all. The PM also warned him that any more cases to bring the former Khmer Rouge leaders to the hybrid UN-back tribunal will cause the nation’s stability, and thus no more cases after 002.
What issues will the former first lady discuss with her Cambodian counterparts? Human rights, democracy (and once-prominent opposition party leader Sam Rainsy), and Khmer Rouge tribunal at all?
