L’amour à mort
Oeur Sokuntevy studied painting at the Phare Ponleu Selpak. She became a feminist by default. She rejects the model from the Ch’bab Srey (Code of Conduct for Women from the 19th century). Her works on paper question the familial roles of women, their social status and intimate relationships, as well as her own identity There is a sadness and a longing that is present in her work which emanates from her sense or ocial displacement.
